Why do so many movies have French language options?

But not German, or Italian or Russian. It seems all subtitles are either in French, Francais or Spanish. Why are no movies hardly ever in German, for example? They all have Francais as an option under languages, and sometimes Spanish but other than that nothing else.

Ermm…because they are usually made for the North American market which includes Canada, where French is widely spoken (and is the main language for millions of people).

Spanish because of the number of Hispanic immigrants, many of whom in the first generation at least have limited English (13% of US is Hispanic).

Help with french grammar?

so, I was reading a sentence in french, and it said "Moi, j’ai pas vu de bibittes en tout cas.", and I know what it says (bibittes means bugs by the way), but how come it doesn’t say "Moi, j’ai pas vu DES bibittes en tout cas."???? I dont understand! Shouldn’t it be "des" because there is more than one? Can someone explain to me the grammar rules to my confusion about this please!
10 pts!

Because when there is a negative tense, they always use "de" and never "du, de la, des".

J’ai vu des bibittes.
Je n’ai pas vu de bibittes.

Tu veux du sucre?
Tu ne veux pas de sucre?

Je n’ai pas de stylos.
J’ai des stylos.

Was the original musical of Les Miserables first written/performed in French or in English?

I have heard both the french and english versions of this musical, and I know the original book was written in French, but I am not sure about the musical.

Yes, the French version was first. The musical opened in September 1980 at the Palais des Sports in Paris. Isn’t the music much slower in the original version! It sounds much better faster.

I saw the UK version in 1986. (Have seen in about 8 times since – my favourite).
