The class is "intro to french 1" and i have no past experience in french.
I took a little spanish in high school, but remember very little and since a foreign language is required for my major I wanted to try something different since I didn’t like spanish. Is going into a college course like this with no experience a mistake? I’m very committed to learning/practicing as I really want to learn and do study abroad in europe.

I would imagine that intro to french 1 would be a beginners french class and therefore your lack of experience will be expected and the teachers will know how to deal with this. They would not let you onto the course if you needed a certain level of French as a pre-requisite so if that’s what you want to do, enroll and have fun learning french!
