In this case, France is crippled by Britain years earlier. A rebellion is a good pivot to even the balance of power.
Sadly, USA didn’t “save” France either. We just helped take the fight to Germany wherever they were. And because taking France helped Russia take Germany even faster.
It is all there is to it.

Actually, there would be. France provided MINIMUM aid to the Patriots during the Revolutionary War. A fair amount of weapons and that’s it. The Patriots did the VAST majority of work.
And the ONLY reason tFrance got involved was for revenge.

Educated to know back in the early 90′s they tried unsuccessfully to lift an embargo against Saddam, when that failed they then used the oil for food program to try and grab a few million on the side. (unsuccessfully as well)
They are the only country to build a complete defensive wall that would take years to break through, just for an invading country to pop through Belgium
