I’m learning French through Pimsleur audio right now, but I would also like to be able to read it. Is learning to read French as hard as it looks? For example, “okay” sounds like “deco” but it is spelled “d’accord”. Are there any patterns in spelling or is it all just random letters?

English and french are pretty similar to read, as they have the same letters, alphabet, etc. You should buy a couple of kids books to practice with Audio CD

I hope you’re never plannIng on actually speaking French. What you interpret as “daco” is actually pronounced more like “dack-cor,” and the ‘r’ is like gurgling.
By reading French, you’re getting further away from it than the time when you knew none.
