For example, there are tons of financial gains for learning English. But the same doesn’t ring true for French these days does it?
I read an article that claimed that French was a dying language.
It indicated that more and more people were learning an Asian language. My opinion is not in agreement.
Let’s not forget that there are 33 countries that speak French. I think there will always be a need as long as the USA trades with French speaking European countries. (if you live within the states)

Thats not true. Learning any language is great, be it French, English, Mandarin or any other language.

It depends on where you are. In eastern Canada, they are currently trying to get everyone to speak french. So much so that its hard to get a full time job if you do not speak french, even though 99% speak english, or both.

Are you kidding? There’s every benefit! If you speak fluent French, and live near a big city? Airports, that have airlines. Inperpreters. Public relations careers. You could go places. (Not a pun.)

French is still widely spoken, is often used in diplomacy, is one of the official languages of the United Nations, is an official language of a number of nations, and has a rich history, and is a beautiful language.
Those all sound like good reasons to me, so parlons français!

The number of French speakers will probably expand greatly in coming decades as (if really) all those Francophone countries in Africa develop economically. Their educational systems will teach in the language. Currently many people there are too poor to attend school regularly.
