I’m going into grade 10 this year and I’m taking French and Spanish in High School, will learning both the languages at the same time be difficult, I’m taking them in separate semesters.
Thanks for all the answers
not really; if its separate semesters!
French & Spanish have some similar stuff
but you may get confused with both languages
*French is more harder than spanish*

I think it will make whatever class you take second easier, since you will already be familiar with conjugating verbs and other aspects of grammar prevalent in French and Spanish but not in English. Though, you might get some French and Spanish words mixed up in your head, and you may pound some structure rules in your head in one class that might mess you up in the other.

it makes no real difference unless you’re known to mix up languages

Well if I can learn Spanish and Russian at the same time, then you can learn Spanish and French at the same. If you’re really into both languages it can be done. I think taking them in different semesters is a good idea, giving your brain time to soak up each language.

They have a lot of vocabulary rot words that are the same, since both derive from Latin. They have a lot of differences as well – they conjugate their verbs rather differently. They use different pronoun sets. There is a much larger number of tenses in Espanol. Preterite tense is not used in Francaise. Pronunciation of the two languages is very different.
If you are good at studying Espanol, you probably can adapt to Francaise as well. If you struggle with a second language, you’ll likely have a lot of trouble trying to deal with a third on top of it.

It’s not difficult at all. Spanish and French are VERY SIMILAR so it will be very easy for you. Im going to be a junior this year and I took Spanish and French last year and taking both classes helped me a lot. Good luck and dont give up!

Hey Fred,
If it’s separate semesters you should be fine.
