its my first year learning french and finals are comming up and its hard for me to grasp the conjugations and what the verbs mean.

I know you don’t have much time but over the summer you could review if you’re interested: The Ultimate French Review and Practice. Your library or local Barnes and Nobles has it, I’m sure. It is an excellent book.

just memorise. memorise until you cant stand to look at the page anymore… some verbs are easy to remember though cause they are similar to english verbs like brosser (to brush).
as for the conjugations, there are patterns depending on the verb. There are three kinds of verbs of verbs in french, ER, IR and RE.
each one has patterns in present du l’indicatif, but of course like every language, there are exceptions

i___, you___he___ they___, unlike nouns, they don’t have gender, just voices, active, passive etc. forget the actual verbs, memorize the endings

Make it simple. For example, ER endings – e, es, e, ons, ez, ent. There you go. Endings to hundreds of regular verbs all from 6 little bits. Practise makes perfect, so look up random verbs in the dictionary and conjugate them. The bigger and better dictionaries even have conjugation tables in them for all tenses and moods, or there are separate books which just have conjugations. Good luck!
