I would like to live in a French speaking country for awhile and become fluent. Do any of you have experience doing this? I was thinking of living in Quebec or France, but I don’t know how to do this. If you’re not a student it seems like it would be really hard to immigrate legally and survive without a job set up. I was thinking TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) may be my only option besides school or the army.

I’ve been an au pair for a French family living in New York and they are about to move back to Paris. I plan on going with them. In order to satisfy the requirements of my visa I need to enroll in a French language course. I’m not wealthy and I’m already paying off a student loan for college. I need the cheapest option for a long term class in Paris (or St. Germain) that will work for a visa.
