Yes we did. The Russians were leaving the war, and the majority of the German forces were on the Eastern Front. You could barely handle the Germans with what they had in the West. They did not expect the US to come over so quicky.

Interesting, isn’t that the same numbers for WWI? Yet France and GB did 95% of the work?
I seriously doubt that the US was firebombing French cities as if they were no different from German cities.

In terms of all European countries, the troops in NATO aren’t enough. They are a few thousand, who aren’t permitted to fight unless they are fired on, or to go out on patrol. So the Taliban just avoids them and its no problem.

Please, I know Iraq didn’t have to do with terrorism. You have a long history of not cooperating. You didn’t want us to go into Iraq because it ruined your special oil and weapons deals with Saddam. You didn’t let us fly over France to Libya in the 80′s, andcost us life

you shouldn’t botter. I know you are right. But the guy is brainwashed by US propaganda and their version of history. We in the Netherlands learned in school that a high proportion of jews were sent to concentration camps because a lot of dutch civil servants just collaborated because they wanted things to go on as normal as possible. You probably learned how fucked up the Vichy regime was but I doubt they teach the black pages of US history on their schools. It probably is unpatriotical to do.

Except slavery (because the blacks is an important minority) they don’t know anything about the black pages of their History.

@Freez57fr unfortunately like in WW1 right at the last moment, in WW2 after the major part of the holocaust had occurred; Churchills people had cracked the Japanese code and knew they were going to attack Pearl harbour, but kept it a secret; as Britain had a war on two fronts, having said that their help was appreciated, the Russians had the toughest fight; astounding casualities 20 million?

The Russians fought a war of attrition which neither Britain or France was willing to do after WW1. Cracking the German Enigma code shaved 2 years off WW2. Without radar and fighter command the battle of Britain would of been lost. Churchill was in fighter command on the day the German Luftwaffe threw ever plane they had at us and he asked “What do we have in reserve” the reply was “We have nothing my Lord”.
